Web 2.0 apps for education

This list of Web 2.0 applications for use in education is interesting, but it would be useful if the site provided more information on each service that could help educators decide whether or not they should or can use the technology in their classes. For example: Is there advertising on the site? How does the company generate revenue? Where is the data stored, and who has access to that data? Is the company granted rights to the information placed in the system for reuse, data mining, or what have you? Can they sell that data to someone else?

Pulling together these resources in one place is a great way to make educators aware they exist. Even better would be to give the info they need to make proper choices about what tech to use (via Stephen Downes)
