I just finished reading The Cluetrain Manifesto, which is essentially about how the web is bringing (has brought? has the potential to bring?) an end to the old broadcast, control-fixated, top-down way of life. Thier point, summed up: The market is a conversation. Thankfully, it's not one of those seven-steps-to-salvation type of books, although the authors do at times have to reach quite a bit to make the data fit their theories. Or maybe it's just that I'm too much a cynical control-freak that it prevents me from truely appreciating the logic of their points.
