Found a some good Sunday reading over at jessamyn: Idle Theory and Whywork.org.
After reading this preview of Poll of Radiance II: Ruins of Myth Drannor, I can definalty see why WotC are going to opensource the D&D pencil-and-paper game. With PoR2 based on the upcoming 3rd Edition rules, with 3D-rendering, full interactive environment, and solid multiplayer, most players will have no need for the pencil-and-paper based game, which will be relegated to hard-core gamers with loads of time on their hands. For more info on the upcoming Pool of Radience game, you can check out this fan site or the official site.
