It's been over two days since I've been online. The last time I went that long was when my modem busted last June. This time, it is simply due to, well, having a lot of other stuff to do. Which is all good, and in the end makes surfing the net that much more fun.

I'm toying with the idea of taking a nap when I get home from work in order to squeeze another truly productive 3-4 hours out of my day. (Let's keep the jokes about the old man needed a nap to a minimum, shall we?) I'd be interested in hearing what results other people have had with napping.

BTW, the latest X-files episode really stank. It's starting to look like my Sunday nights are going to be free for things other then TV watching. If it wasn't for Beast Machines, I'd get rid of my cable entirely. What do you think? Has X-Files lost it?

I finished reading The Use of Weapons this weekend. An excellent read, though definitely not a pick-me-up kinda story. If you enjoy good sci-fi, and don't mind a bit of gore, check it out.

Rage Against the Machine sells half a million records during the first week of their latest album's release.

If you think the Internet belongs to the people and not to the corporations, check these folks out.

The Cyber-Rosary is a network of iMacs that have been programmed to recite prayers to each other.

I've been trying to link to this page on How to Write Unmaintainable Code for the past week, but the site has been suffering under the Slashdot effect.

Jef Raskin (i.e. one of the creators of the Mac) defines "intuitive" for human-computer interfaces.

Some screenshots of the Mac OS X, Developer Release 2.

Oh, goodie. Small fonts that rock.

A short Icewind Dale interview, with screenshots.

I saw this book on how internet stocks are about to go kerplop over at Indigo on Sunday, but didn't bother to look at it. However, now that I know that the authors are the guys from the Red Herring, I may just pick it up and add it to the reading pile. Here's an overview of the book.

In case you missed it in the news over the weekend, China has succeeded in launching an unmanned spacecraft into space.
