This morning I finished reading David Brin's novel Earth. A very satisfying read. I've jotted down a few more of my thoughts in the book in the Media room. Thanks to Saturn5 for recommending the book.
Design is Kinky has a nice collection of home page designs, artist galleries, and other tid bits for web designers looking for a little inspiration.
Looking to develop a serious case of desktop envy? New-kid-on-the-block Screenshotz has got it all. Even better, they are not limiting themselves to a particlular OS. Their mission seems to be to collect screenshots of anything cool that could appear on a monitor.

U of T professor suggests that we could get around current cosmological quandries by doing away with the claim that the speed of light was and will always be constant. At first glance, fudging with a constant like the speed of light seems like an easy out. Unfortunately, I don't know enough cosmology to understand the ramifications of his claim. Since the original paper isn't freely available on the net, I guess it's off to the library to do some old-fasion digging.
Plantary overviews, star evolution, constellations, and star charts: A Journey Into the Heavens has it all. I especially like thier images of Venus (too bad they're not big enough for desktop use..)
If you're into etymology (study of words and their origins), check out this excellent resource on the subject.
