Reading Diary: Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies : administrator's pocket consultant. This wasn't so much a reading as it was a thorough scanning of the text. It provides a good overview of SharePoint, but focuses on the product and not much on the processes that need to be in place around a SharePoint installation. Also, most of what is covered is a fairly straight forward overview of the different features in the application, as well as step-by-step procedures to follow for common tasks with little additional insight. Most of what is there you could figure out by just scanning the UI. However, given the poor state of the SharePoint documentation, an SP admin could do worse then to add this book to their shelf.
