The weekend just flew by. Nathalie's parents were up for the weekend, so we spent most of it chatting and driving around Ottawa. Not the best weekend for that, though. Cold, grey, rain, snow, and wind. Lots of wind. I'm sure there's a lot of junk littering the streets (i.e. more then usual).

Materially, I'm ready for the week ahead: laundry and ironing done, food and snacks purchased and made. Personally, I could use a few more days of rest. Either way, tomorrow is Monday.

My goal for the coming week (I think its important to have goals, if only to answer the nagging question: what exactly am I trying to do here?) is to work regular hours. Not that I've been putting in much in the way of overtime or bringing work home. But I'm teetering on the edge, starting to think that somehow that extra thirty or sixty minutes is going to make a difference. That sending off a few more emails at night will somehow lighten the next day's workload. It won't. Besides, I'm a unionized worker now, and from what I understand, working unpaid overtime is a big, big no-no.

This week my time at the office will be fixed. Its up to me now to make the most of each day.
