Use of broken English reported

It struck me as odd (and amateurish) that this CBC news story would report the police officer's less-then perfect use of English verbatim:

"Then they run away with her identification cards, credit card and they also steal her automobile," Desautel said Thursday.

However, people should take precautions to make their homes safer, Montreal police Insp. André Durocher said.

"Anybody rings at your door during the day, and you don't know who it is: Don't open!" Durocher said Thursday.
